How I Honor My Family's History With A Persian New Year Feast for Nowruz

Andy Baraghani, the senior food editor for Bon Appetit, recalls that when he was growing up, Nowruz, the Persian new year, served as a reminder of the way his Iranian heritage made him feel different from other kids.

 

Yet he embraced the holiday, which begins on the spring equinox and celebrates nature. Naturally, food is also involved, including one dish that looks like hell but tastes like heaven.
